When health insurance reform passed, those opposed–largely Republicans and Conservatives–worked themselves into a fury, calling President Obama a “socialist“. Rallies and “Tea Parties” were staged throughout the country. Liberals retorted that all these activities were merely tools of fear mongering.
More recently, opposition to Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 has resulted in mass movements throughout the country–supported primarily by Democrats and Liberals. Not surprisingly, Governor Jan Brewer has been widely accused of being “fascist“. And, once again, accusations of instilling fear to influence opinions fly rampant.
As polarized as they may seem, they’re all pretty much the same in the end.
